Merician family
Many other Religious Congregations of women throughout the world trace their origins to Angela Merici and claim her spirit. Together, these groups are often referred to as the Merician Family.
Amongst many others, this family includes
- two congregations in India,
- the Canadian Union of Ursulines, based in Quebec, with communities in Japan and the Phillipines,
- the Company of St Angela, a Congregation of African sisters in South Africa,
- and the Federation of German-Speaking Ursulines, which includes the sisters in Duderstadt, the original home of the Ursuline sisters who established the first community in Armidale, Australia.
Full details of the groups which form the Merician Family can be found on the web-site of the Roman Union Ursulines at www.ursulines-ur.org/the-merician-family
