Our archivist Sr Colleen Foley osu has found some interesting information regarding early ex-students of St Ursula's College Armidale.  These excerpts from the college book of records go back 100 years.

Bachelor of Science Degree

In March 1917, Miss Muriel Pearl McLaren, ex-student of St Ursula's College, gained the degree of Bachelor of Science with Honours in Paleontology.  Miss McLaren is now one of St Ursula's teaching staff and is known as Sister Mary Evangelist.

 

From the same book of records: One small record of Ellie McGlade's school life - her intermediate results: Patrice Joyce (Mother Magdalen) and Eleanor McGlade in the same Intermediate class in 1919.

In 1920 Dymphna Cusack gained entry to Sydney University and went on to become an author.  Some of her book titles include;  Come in Spinner, The Half-Burnt Tree and Southern Steel to name a few.
